When Canopy Analytics is the right call
Canopy's team is genuinely good at what they do. If any of these describe you, you should talk to them.
- You’re an asset manager, portfolio exec, or investor-relations lead and you want packaged multifamily KPIs and benchmarks on day one — without standing up a data team.
- Your team is drowning in spreadsheet-based reporting and needs prioritized, pre-built variance and performance alerts by Monday morning, not a quarter from now.
- Investor-facing portfolio summaries, executive reporting, and narrative generation from onsite comments are high on your priority list.
- You want a single, polished UX for asset-manager workflows — budget-variance flagging, amenity-ROI tracking, rent-growth analysis — without composing it yourself.
- You don’t have (and don’t want) a data warehouse to maintain.
When Propexo Connect is the right call
If most of your operational data lives inside the systems you run every day, this is the layer we built.
- You’re a multifamily operator (or a proptech company serving one) and most of your operational data lives inside your PMS, leasing, maintenance, resident, and AI tools.
- You operate on multiple PMS platforms (Entrata + RealPage + AppFolio + Buildium) and need one normalized dataset across them.
- Your primary users are data, analytics, IT, or proptech product teams — not only asset-management analysts.
- You want raw and normalized operational data to live in your warehouse (Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Amazon RDS, or Postgres), yours to keep, feeding any BI tool, AI agent, or internal product.
- You’re building a product on top of multifamily operational data and want one unified API instead of ten.
Can I use both? Yes.
The two products sit at different layers, which means they can compose cleanly. One common pattern:
- 1
Propexo Connect
Moves your operational data — PMS, leasing, maintenance, resident, AI tools — into your warehouse.
- 2
Your warehouse
Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, or RDS holds the unified dataset. One source of truth for your operation.
- 3
A BI layer on top
Canopy (if it reads from your data sources), Tableau, Looker, Power BI, Sigma, a ChatGPT or Claude workflow, or your own product. Talk to your BI vendor about their data-source options; talk to us about what’s in the warehouse.
FAQ
Does Propexo Connect give me dashboards like Canopy?
No. Propexo Connect moves the data. You build dashboards in your BI tool of choice — Tableau, Looker, Power BI, Sigma, Mode, a ChatGPT or Claude workflow — or use a purpose-built multifamily BI product like Canopy on top of the same data.
Does Canopy give me the raw operational data in my warehouse?
Canopy’s public materials describe a benchmarking, alerting, and portfolio-insights dashboard. If you need raw or normalized operational data in Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, or RDS, that’s Propexo Connect’s job. For Canopy’s current data-export options, ask their team.
I have a small ops team and no data engineers — do I need both?
Probably not. Start with the layer closest to your biggest pain. If it’s “I can’t see my portfolio performance,” start with a BI layer (Canopy is one good option for multifamily). If it’s “my data is stuck in ten PMS tools,” start with Propexo Connect.
