Introduction

Integrations are essential for proptechs serving rental organizations. Many property managers and owners will not consider purchasing new technology that doesn't integrate with their current tech stack.

So, if you're interested in building a RealPage integration, keep reading to get the inside scoop on how the process works!

About RealPage

RealPage is a property management software company founded in 1998. The company offers products to support various rental property types, including multifamily, commercial, and senior living.

The company's flagship property management software is OneSite.

RealPage owns both Buildium and Propertyware, two other property management software more focused on single-family rental. Both Buildium and Propertyware have distinct integration programs.

We estimate RealPage has 6 million residential rental units on its OneSite platform.

Why Integrate with RealPage

There are many reasons to integrate with the RealPage API. These include:

  1. Leading player in multifamily. We estimate that RealPage is the third most popular property management software in the US based on rental unit counts, behind only Yardi & AppFolio.
  2. Public API. RealPage's AppPartner integration has a publicly available API.
  3. Multiple ways to integrate. RealPage offers two integration options to partners - the standard Exchange AppPartner integration and the alternative Registered Vendor integration. The Registered Vendor integration is a low-cost alternative to the AppPartner integration.

How to Integrate with RealPage

Step 1. Submit application

To become a RealPage Exchange AppPartner or Registered Vendor, you must submit an online application with details about your business and your desired APIs.

Step 2. Speak with the RealPage integration team

You will then need to meet with RealPage's integration team to discuss your use case in greater detail. As part of this process, you will receive recommendations on the appropriate integration program for your company.

There may be additional paperwork to be signed at this step.

Step 3. Start building the integration

Once you've completed the necessary paperwork, you'll receive the RealPage API credentials and can start work on your integration. Depending on the integration path, additional QA and testing may be required before you can go live.
